Case Study
Online Healthcare Start-Up Achive Perfomance on AWS.
About CLIENT
Health care is an ever-growing and expansive industry giving inspiration to budding entrepreneurs to venture into this lucrative field. Online healthcare startup created an online application that gave the doctor’s consultation to its patient. Many patients were able to adapt to this technology as it provided the comfort to be able to access the doctor’s guidance twenty-four hours a day. This undisputed luxury for critical and non-critical patients came at a huge unpredictable cost to the company.
The doctors appointed by the company suggested that to make an op point diagnoses of patients, and for the venture to be absolutely successful it is imperative that the patients upload the entire medical history. This well-intended suggestion turned out to be the turning point of the healthcare start-ups growth journey.
THE STORY
Patients after registering started uploading their medical documents comprising of MRI reports, blood tests, diabetes tests, stress tests, blood pressure reports, urine tests, X-rays, ecology reports, and the works.
With each patient’s uploading data over 2 GB, the server started crashing. Purchasing additional servers would incur large costs to the company.
Given their crises, healthcare startup started to look for solutions outside of their IT team’s expertise. Inclotech was approached to come up with an out of the box, yet cost-effective solution as the startup had limited finances at their disposal as major costs were locked up in other faculties.
THE Inclotech EFFECT
Given the limitation of financial investment, Inclotech addressed the issue by presenting an innovative yet creative solution.
Application Server Failure Solution
Inclotech experts devised a solution where data gets stored on AWS S3 bucket to save costs. A central storage system was deployed that would archive any data that was over six months old.
The application would get synced with AWS S3 bucket and for managing traffic, team Inclotech deployed route 53 and an elastic load balancer.
The elastic load balancer manages excess traffic and the load between the active and passive servers.
Team Inclotech’s creative solution turned out to be beneficial to the client at multiple levels. The primary concern of the client was addressed of reducing the cost and also the functionality of the server was further enhanced as the managing the traffic and use of the incoming data would become smoother in the future.
In assisting the online healthcare startup to effectively manage its costs, team Inclotech once again proved their expertise in the technological sphere.
