IoT Device Manufacturer Increases Performance Migrating to AWS from Digital Ocean.
About CLIENT
The client is a Manufacturer with a solution of IoT Devices and Sensors that Monitor Vehicle – Engine. Fuel, load and tyre pressure, temperature.
Also, the Client had collaborated with India’s leading tyre Manufacturer and launched Smart Tyre that comes with Pre-fitted Sensor in the tyre that helps to protect riders, drivers and passengers from unforeseen risks. By continuously monitoring vehicle tyres and vehicle performance, while flagging up anomalies. It also improves vehicle mileage significantly and extends the life of vehicles and vehicle tyres.
THE STORY
The Client has developed a full-fledged application that Collect, Store and filter the data which sent by IoT Devices and deliver all filtered data to users and owners.
The application was hosted on Digital Ocean Server, which had a meagre workload & capacity.
Increasing customers and started associating with transport companies of India, incoming traffic load increased on the existing server. The client decided to go on AWS to set up a multi-tier server, highly scalable infrastructure for B2B & B2C application and database.
THE Inclotech EFFECT
AWS Team was approached by the AWS Partner who didn’t have the technical capabilities to build the required infrastructure on AWS Platform, the same AWS Partner Approached to Inclotech to build AWS infrastructure and set up an Application and database on the AWS Cloud Platform.
Team Inclotech discussed and understood the end client application and the solution which was required for successful incorporation.
Solution
• Private subnets has been set up to avoid servers publicly access.
• Created IAM users with specific access policies.
• B2B, B2C and test environment on EC2, that includes TCP Listener server for store data in database which coming from the IoT Device sensors.
• App server to process and deliver the IoT Device sensors data from the database,
• Deployed Mongodb Database Replication Primary, Secondary and arbiter to provide redundancy and increases data availability with multiple copies of data on different database servers and AWS availability zones.
• The Cloudwatch was also implemented with custom metrics to monitor all the servers with the Cloudwatch Alarm to send alerts using SNS for Server Health Check, CPU Utilization, Memory and Disk Utilization.
In this way Inclotech the consultation and the right solution, the client was able to achieve the results and scalability was looking for their entire application and database.
